And life moves on...

So whats new?...every 4 mths some young men with either guns or bombs come along...kill a few indians and walk off...Happy....And we Indians...we dont care...coz really...as long as "I am alive and my family is alive...well too sorry for the others..they couldnt survive"...isnt it?

They say its a sin to commit a crime...but even worse to let it happen...and no am not talking about the terrorists/ millitants..whatever you call them...Am referring to our very own politicians....terrorists come and kill 300 of us in a day and walk off....but the numbers that are dying becoz of our politicians EVERYDAY goes much beyond that.....

The very fact that we have lost 300 of our people on 26/11 itself goes to say how much bigger an enemy is living day in and out in our own country in the name of these politicians....our own politicians who have no conscience and soul left in them....and inspite of repeated attacks in the country have never bothered to do ANYTHING AT ALL about it....

Last 50 yrs we have sat and watched one politician after another come and stab our wounds again and again to such an extent that I daresay , the damage to india has been permanent....if anyone who is responsible for the death of these 300 innocent people...yes it is the terrorists, it is the politicians and even more it is us...

We cannot stand and blame anyone else for this but us...we choose to be destroyed...we seem to want to be destroyed...its like wer asking for mercy killing....maybe we dont deserve any better than this...coz we Indians have been too selfish..way too selfish to stand up and fight for our brothers and to change things...

And the politicians--maybe u havent got this message straight....but let me give it a shot....but ur not kings...but servants!!....ur here to serve us and to make us happy...as crude as that....thats who you are ...And I do sometimes wonder what are these politicians made of and even more so..what are their families made of???....How can they all eat and drink so happily with money that comes from the blood of others....?

So we raised a big hue and cry...and to show that changes happen... now the politicians change..the old ones have escaped all accountability safely, new ones are happy to be the new kings in the indian system and we indians have got ourselves labelled "fools" again!...congratulations India Shining!!

Shame to them and Shame to us.

And yet we announce proudly...Mumbai moves on...oh yes it does..with shame and disgrace.

quite true!!! for them if anything goes wrong, they will resign and thats it!! someone else will come to do the next round of damage!!! corruption and selfishness has grown deeper into the system!!! change is not a solution. we need a revolution!!!

Ekta.. Seriously, our posts resemble so much! No one wants to take responsibility, they just like to blame. And talk about Mumbai spirit! WTF. No mumbaikar shows spirit bcs he does not fear, they go out because they HAVE to.. To fulfil their day to day need. If we have choice of staying home and getting paid for it, you will not see a single person on the road next day of attack. So don’t take it wring, thinking that we are brave. NO we HAVE to be brave.
Politicians.. arghhh.. a lot talked about them already. Which is of NO use!

i can understand ur pain. ya, life moves on and it has moved on in mumbai too. everything is back to normal. that anger against the politicians and terrorists has reduced in the hearts of mumbaikars. back to basics.

I think the best way to tackle it is to break it down to what each of us in our own manner can do about it.Cuz the people in power, fail to show power at the right moment. They are just too busy to get the power and then put a fevicol to it. And by breaking down to each one of us, i really dont mean grand things, but simple ones.

True to every word... I feel frustrated that I am not able to do anything about it at all... Wonder whether the politicians even ever feel 1% of that...

those guys who are at the power are called "civil-servants" and why ? because they serve the people of the country...I agree with you, they are not Kings or Queens...they are there to serve the people...

Ekta,

I agree with you entirely. More than anyone we are the ones who should own up our moral responsibility. We must vow to vote for the right person. Also we must fight to ask for option of " None of the above " on ballot paper. If at least 25% of the votes cast choose this option the election should be held again and those who contested earlier should be barred.

Do visit me if you find time.

Take care

Your views echo that of almost all of us. Though are angry at our politicians, we must also not stop being angry with the masterminds behid terror attacks, who twist religion and deviate minds and kill ruthlessly just to suit some obscure personal agenda.

India is an organization..you and me along with a billion others are the shareholders...politicians are our employees..guess we should fire them...

While life goes on mostly, this Mumbai spirit being bandied about is quite ironical. Why should we forget? As if 9/11 will not be talked about till our great-grandchildren end up feeling sorry for 'em.. or the holocaust... why forget bombay alone? Worse, why let our supposed leaders get away without change? Terrible.

Its true politicians are mainly responsible for all disasters in india... they are the root to corruption...everybody is corrupt including us in one or the other manner.........we need to be responsible citizens to make a difference

So true Ekta.
Somewhere I am hoping against hope that we would be the change we want to see in the country today. The big power we have in our hands is to go out & elect our leaders. Elections in 2009 should tell them we have finally woken up. Those of us who have never voted need to do that & see what a difference it is going to bring!

Happy New Year to you & to INDIA!

Take care.

So true !! Stong words, stronger sentiments and very well put.

If only our govt was comprised of a Few people more interested in taking care of the country rather than lining their pockets, we'd be stronger in every field of development. For with the potential India has as a country, we Are a great nation which is destined for greatness ...

Cheers,
adisha

It is said that we get the government we deserve. When young, educated, well-settled people start planning a days outing instead of voting on the dee day this is exactly what we deserve. How else can you explain appallingly low turn outs in most of the urban areas? If 50% of India does not care to cast their votes, they have no right to whine when criminals are elected to the parliament. Criminals will do what criminals do... fleece people to make a quick buck. Also said is 'Bad politicians are elected by Good people who do not vote'. Truer words were never spoken.
